In the event of being involved in a road traffic collision with a deer protocol as follows
switch on your hazard lights and remain at the scene
Call Gardai NPWS or Kildare wildlife rescue or any agency that may assist
Don’t under any circumstances approach the animal these are wild animals and are unpredictable
Take photos and video so when you get through to the correct assistance you can share them
A google pin drop is extremely important as it gives us exact location in case the animal moves before help arrives
Remain at the scene if possible or are advised otherwise
All this is essential for the deer’s survival and welfare which is our priority
