Yesterday I witnessed a baby deer get hit by a car. The baby deer was not going to live, I rang Peter to report this as I didnt want the baby deer to suffer, Peter dealt with the issue in a prompt manner by getting David to ensure the deer did not suffer. I greatly appreciate their quick response in how they dealt with everything! Thank you David and Peter for all your help 🙏

I recently contacted Humane Dispatch Ireland after my friend and I came across a young deer with severe injuries to its back legs. We found the deer lying in the grass, clearly struggling to move, and were unsure of the best course of action. After reaching out to Peter, we immediately felt reassured that we had contacted the right people.
I shared our location via Google Maps, and from that point the entire process was handled professionally and efficiently. Peter arranged for his colleague, Sam, to attend the scene. After assessing the deer, it became apparent that the injuries were likely caused by either a vehicle collision or another traumatic incident involving its legs.
Although it was heartbreaking to learn that there was little that could be done, both Peter and Sam took the time to explain the situation with compassion and professionalism. Sam informed us that someone had already intervened before we arrived and explained why the course of action taken was the most humane option available to prevent further suffering. Sam and Peter agreed it would have been better if the individual contacted before taking action but we know not everyone does. Given the severity of the injuries and the fact that the deer had likely been in pain for some time, it was comforting to know that its welfare had been prioritised.
Before this experience, I knew very little about deer, but Sam and Peter were incredibly informative and even shared interesting facts about identifying injuries through antler development. Their knowledge, patience, and willingness to educate were greatly appreciated.
I cannot speak highly enough of Humane Dispatch Ireland. If you ever find yourself in a situation involving an injured animal and are unsure what to do, these are the people to contact. They are professional, compassionate, knowledgeable, and genuinely dedicated to ensuring animals are treated as humanely as possible. Thank you, Peter and Sam, for your help and kindness during a difficult situation.

Today my family and I had the unfortunate experience of coming across a heavily pregnant deer who had been hit by a car. The driver of the car left the scene and many other passing vehicles ignored the visibly suffering deer on the side of the road.
I remembered seeing information on a local facebook forum about Humane Dispatch Ireland. I rang the number and the phone was answered immediately. Peter advised us on what to do while we waited.
In less than 10 minutes, someone was out to the scene to help. The deer passed away just a minute before assistance arrived but they moved her away from the footpath and were very grateful to us for the call.
We then received a follow up call shortly afterwards too.
In a county where the deer population is so prolific, the service that Humane Dispatch Ireland provides is both invaluable and highly necessary.
